(3) Show your photo ID to the SU Staff at the front desk of the Connolly Center.
SU Staff will check your photo ID (Government/Student/Military) against the Team Roster we provide them. Your swim passes will not be checked or punched here, but will be checked off on the pool deck.
Your name must appear on the team roster to enter the pool. Your name will automatically be added to that roster if you are a current USMS member and have identified Seattle Orcas as your workout group. If you need to renew your membership click here .
If your name does not appear on the list,do not ask the staff at the front desk to let you in. Remember that we are guests at SU. Be polite and contact the Orca Swim team board.
(4) Bring your Swim Pass with you onto the pool deck.
You must bring your pass with you onto the pool deck. This is where your swim pass will be verfied by the coach. Without your swim pass you will not be able to swim and you will be asked to retreive it from the locker room.
(5) Swim in the right lane for your skill and ability.
We have six lanes. Lane 1 has slower swimmers. Lane 6 is where our fastest swimmers swim. We want you to be comfortable and get a good workout. Talk with the coach to find the right lane for you.
Remember to exercise good lane ettiquette.
(6) Swim your face off
Our coaches provide a coached workout. If you have any questions, ask your lane-mates or the coach to explain what any unfamiliar terms mean.
Don’t be shy about asking the coach about how to improve your stroke or technique. All our coaches are happy to help you out any way they can.
(7) Come back and swim with us often
Our team is only as strong as our members. swim with us often, either for fitness or in competition. Take part in the social aspect of being part of the Orca Swim Team.
We have special events, monthly events and compete in swim meets together. The best way to be part of the swimming sensation that is the Orca Swim Team is to jump in.
