2013 Orca Swim Team Membership:

Click here to join or renew your Orca membership for 2013. You must be an Orca Swim Team member and USMS member to buy passes and swim with us.

Summer Swim Passes:

The New Quarter begins July 1, 2013. Click here to buy your pass now. If you do not have a pass, you won't be able to swim. Sorry. The price for the summer is reduced to $130.00 so we can all train well for IGLA.

Swim passes are no longer available to purchase on deck at the pool. To buy a swim pass, buy one online at the Orca Store.

Please remember to bring your pass with you on the pool deck. If you don't have your pass or forget to bring it with you onto the deck you will not be allowed to swim.

Treat your punch pass like cash. Orca Swim Team will not refund or reissue lost punch passes.

Coaches

 Karla Ruff

Karla was a four year varsity athlete for Roosevelt High School.  She competed in district championships all four years and the state championships her last three.  She helped the Roughriders place fourth in state in 2006 and was given the Coaches’ Award her senior year.

Karla swam for Salmon Bay Aquatics 2005-2009, Cascade Swim Team 2009-2010, and Olympics Cascade Aquatics from 2010 to the present.  She swam on the senior national team at Salmon Bay in 2009 and has been on the senior national team for Olympic Cascade since 2010.

Karla is a humanities for teaching major and wants to be an elementary school teacher after graduation.  She is a Student to Student Representative for Seattle University and an Admissions Coach for ORCAS.  She competes in triathlons, placing 104th out of over 3000 in a 2011 race.  She enjoys reading, baking, and giving campus tours in her spare time.

 Rachel Leighter

Rachel began coaching Orca Swim Team last year.  Rachel is a dominant force on the Seattle U Swim Team and translates her experience in the pool to coaching on the deck. Rachel focuses on stroke techniques and conditioning.

Rachel was a four year varsity athlete at Henry D. Sheldon High School.  She swam backstroke events for the Fighting Irish.

Rachel was a member of Team Eugene Aquatics for ten years.

Rachel is a marketing major and wants to work in business marketing after graduation.

Alexis Morehouse

Alexis has been coaching Orcas for 3 years. Alexis is currently a Senior at Seattle U.

Before swimming for Seattle U Alexis swam for four years at Heritage High School.  She was a two-time All-American and won state titles in the 100 meter breaststroke, 50 meter freestyle, and the 100 meter individual medley in 2006.  She set a school record in the 100 meter breaststroke.  Morehouse was named Team Captain and given the team’s High Point Award.

Alexis swam for the Columbia River Swim Team for six years.  She won multiple state championships in various breaststroke distances and swam at national meets in 2004 and 2007.  Alexis

Alexis is an accounting major and would like to be a CPA after graduation.  She enjoys watching movies and coaching the Orcas in her spare time.
