Pride 2017 Edition

Chipotle is our official corporate sponsor in the parade this year (they paid our entry fee). In honor of that, we have developed a new team cheer:

No practice this Sunday due to the Pride Parade. Come sport your speedo on 4th Ave with the team. Details below. We’re back in the pool on Monday (even if you’re hungover). Starting immediately, evening practices have been changed to 6:30. Check the full calendar here.

Team Seattle Field Day, Saturday June 24th, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM at Cal Anderson Park

Come join the other Seattle gay sports team for some physical (think water balloon toss) challenges. Meet some other local gay athletes and enjoy the nice weather. Then head over to the Capitol Hill Pride Festival on Broadway – noon to evening.

We are sharing a booth with other Seattle gay sports team. We will need volunteers throughout the day to be on hand to give out info on the team and answer questions. If you’re on Broadway feel free to stop by and say hello.

PRIDE PARADE!!!!, Sunday June 25th, 11:00 AM, 4th Avenue between Madison and Marion

The rumors were true. The flamingoes are here.

  • When: arrive at 10:30 – to make sure all the flamingoes get blown…..up. parade starts at 11.
  • Wear: your team suit. If you don’t have one, wear a black or pink (flamingo colored) speedo. Don’t worry, The 4′ inflatable flamingo will hide all sorts of thunder.
  • Where: we are staging in between Madison and Marion on 4th Ave. We have number 80 in the parade (a big step up from years past). We are in between Chipotle and “Thank God  for Sex”. If you get lost, listen for Juanita’s voice. It’s intoxicating and will undoubtedly draw you in.
  • Bring: water bottle, sunscreen, a small bag for your clothes, and most of all: TEAM SPIRIT!
  • Don’t bring: alcohol or intoxicating substances of any kind (they are not allowed on the parade route or staging areas)
  • At the end of the route: We know everyone will want to be dancing in the fountain at Seattle Center, but don’t run off too quickly. Be patient, follow instructions and help disassemble all of the fabulous accoutrements of Juanita’s chariot. It goes quickly with lots of hands.
